Sharing Smiles: Women’s Jail Goodies Distribution

In continuation of its commitment to Rotary’s Maternal and Child Health Area of Focus, the Rotary Club of Rajdhani organized the Sharing Smiles: Women’s Jail Goodies Distribution Project on 19 July 2026 at the Women’s Block of Central Jail, Sundhara.

The project benefited 377 female inmates and 12 children living with their mothers inside the prison. Basic hygiene products, menstrual hygiene supplies, baby-care essentials, nutritional food, laundry soaps, and other daily necessities were distributed during the program.

Women living inside correctional facilities often have limited access to essential hygiene and maternal-care products. Menstruation, pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood are natural aspects of life, and no woman should be deprived of basic care and dignity because of her circumstances. Similarly, children living with their mothers inside prison facilities deserve adequate nutrition, hygiene, protection, and care.

Recognizing these needs, the Rotary Club of Rajdhani continued its support for the women and children of the Central Jail for the second consecutive year. The initiative aimed not only to provide essential supplies but also to assure the beneficiaries that they had not been forgotten by the wider community.

The project was made possible through the collective efforts of Rotarians, individual supporters, and partner organizations. Due to the strict security and privacy protocols of the correctional facility, photographs of the beneficiaries and the distribution program could not be shared publicly.
